Yaverland Coastal Defence Scheme

This is to notify you that the Environment Agency will be starting ground investigation works on the sea wall and beach at Yaverland on Monday 16 January 2023 and expect the works to be completed by the end of February 2023. 

We have planned these works to minimise disruption during the peak tourist and holiday season.

 The slipway adjacent to YSBC club will be used to provide excavator access onto the beach. Our Traffic Safety Officer and Plant and Vehicle Marshals will ensure that the risks involved in the movement of mobile plant and vehicles around the site are identified and controlled as far as reasonably practicable. 

This may mean that the slipway will be closed temporarily for short durations to facilitate excavator access. 

We will also need to suspend 3-4 parking bays in Yaverland Car Park at a time for public safety.
