2022- End of Season Newsletter.

With the clocks going back last weekend, we are coming to the end of another summer at YSBC.  During summer months, the hot weather had encouraged nearly all YSBC members out onto the water .  The fishing gang have been out day & night, Jet skiers on day trips to the mainland & round the island, Paddleboards/Kayakers/Surfers/Kite & Windsurfers enjoying The Bay and our Sailors taking part in Regattas at Shanklin and Sandown.

We now come to the ‘end of year’ jobs & maintenance, both to your craft and Club maintenance.

Craft/boat Maintenance – With Autumn storms queuing up and coming our way, it is strongly recommended to tie down/secure your craft, take down/store away masts, remove any loose equipment/gear that could blow around the yard and damage, not only your craft but nearby craft. (Maintenance/security of your craft is your responsibility).

Winter Jobs weekends – details of days/times will be listed here in due course and all helpers will be very welcome, as YSBC is totally reliant on a small group of volunteers to maintain and repair club equipment & premises, so any help is extremely valuable and keeps membership costs down.

Club Administration- Your Committee have met regularly each month and Minutes of their meetings are available to view by bone-fide YSBC members via the Admin Secretary, Sue Dyer-  ysbc.club.sec@btinternet.com  please contact Sue to make a day/time appointment.

Annual General Meeting – has been allocated for Thursday the 24thNovember at 7.30pm – details will be published on the website & notice board soon.  We hope members will attend and take an interest in the running & management of Yaverland Sailing & Boat Club. There will be an opportunity for Club discussions after the formal business of an AGM.

YSBC Website & Webcam

We hope you are finding the Website www.ysbc.co.uk and the live webcam feed useful, especially the weather section giving you local weather forecasts and any approaching storms. Also, the For Sale section – if you have a craft/marine equipment to sell, send details to Sue with full details, photos, price & contact info.
